Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised within an multiethnic family. Jacqueline's father Elroy Fernandez hails of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Her siblings include two brothers and an older sister. Because of the turmoil in Sri Lanka, her family moved to Bahrain in the late 1980s. When she finished her studies in Bahrain her family was granted a Scholarship to attend Sydney's University of Sydney, where she earned a master's degree in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. Having a passion for cultures and languages she also was a part of the Berlitz school of languages, in which she was able to learn Spanish and improve her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was the crown of March 2006. she also took part in Miss Universe 2006 The TV show she appeared on was founded after winning the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her program, Lanka Business Report, is about business in Sri Lanka. Padukone was the daughter of badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew up in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. In her teens she played in badminton championships at national and international levels. But, she resigned from the sport in order to make a profession as a designer. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Padukone is a village located in Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone is her father and a former badminton star who has international acclaim. Her mother works as an agent of travel.
